KCDA 2.0 Alive!

Postby Vin » Sat Jan 17, 2009 2:31 am

Success!

KCDA 2.0 is up and running. I still have a number of things to take care of so bare with me while I sort these things out.

An FYI to everyone who is seeing KCDA 2.0 for the first time, you will likely need to change your password when you log in for the first time within the new forum system. In the email you get, follow the link and copy your new password, as you'll need to paste it into a form here.

Anyways, forum's back up, PM if you have questions.

Kevin, great job man! Looks so clean!
I'm glad you could finally get this implemented, Derek told me you're pretty busy with work and school!

Technically yes, but at the moment I only have 1 theme installed because the portal (front page news parsing) only supports 1 theme. I am in the process of upgrading it so it supports more, though it'll still be on a theme to theme basis, so for the time being we're more or less stuck with the one.

Thanks man, I really appreciate it. Yeah I'd essentially had it done for quite a while I was just worrying that I could make it better, but I eventually realized that it's a forum and it doesn't need too much else, just a means of efficient internet communication and maybe a 4chan pic here and there lol.

Thanks again James, and everyone who's commented on it. It really does mean something to know that people are happy with it. =)

No! No internet explorer!

I recommend either Firefox or Google Chrome.

If you take the time, Firefox can be customized to look and feel a whole lot like IE. It's got something called an 'extension' engine that allows for very heavy customization. For example, I have an extension that turns plain text links into clickable links when I hover over them for a quarter of a second... so no need to copy/paste into the address bar.

Anyways, I highly recommend you switch to another browser simply for the reason and IE is the most commonly used browser out there and is the primary target for malware/spyware coders, so it's going to have the most known exploits at any given time.
